Last Night...

I went to The Funny Bone with Beckie & Dan. It was fun, but only because Beckie & Dan were cracking me up. The comedy selection really wasn't that great. After that, we went to America's Pub for a while. Considering I'd never been there before, I had a great time. It was totally dead though. Big surprise eh, for a Monday night. I think I'd like to go back on a Friday or Saturday though.

On our way home, we stopped at McDonalds and I got a happy meal. The McDonalds worker gave me *2* toys in my happy meal. Bonus.

Anyway, I'm at work now for yet another day of fun. Yippee! Not.

Tonight I need to get my stuff together for Cornerstone. I'm leaving Wednesday after work for 4 days full of concert excitement. Yay!

I suppose I should do some work now. Even though the "boss staff" is out of town, I still need to appear busy. Busy Busy Busy!

My weekend

Well, the weekend has come and gone. It was a pretty good weekend, actually. On Friday, I went over to Jamie & Jon's to take them their wedding gift that I forgot on their actual wedding day. Then, I came home to finish getting ready for Ryan's surprise party. I was so tired, but I had a lot to do, so I didn't end up getting to sleep until like 2am.

Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I still had some things to pick up for the party, and I wanted to get all of that done early so I could concentrate on getting things at the house ready..so I got up a little too early, and Sam's wasn't open yet, so we had breakfast at Steak N Shake. Apparently, their grease trap wasn't functioning, because when we walked in, there was a thick cloud of smoke, and it smelled like a fire. We ate there regardless. *shrug* Anyway, we got back to Sam's and found Schlafly's Pale Ale a 24 pack for like $19.37 or something like that. It was a pretty good deal and it made me happy. So, we got all the beer and then ran around to various other places getting more supplies.

So, anyway as I'm getting ready, Beckie calls me, to tell me that Ryan's mom spilled the beans about his surprise party. So, that kind of sucked but the party was good anyway. We had tons of food and even more liquor. Everyone had a great time and I think everyone finally cleared out around 2:30am. So, another successful party at the Dana household.

Tonight we went out to eat with Beckie & RJ at O'Charley's. That place sucks man. I did not enjoy that dining experience.

This coming weekend is Cornerstone. I'm excited. However, I was supposed to leave on Wednesday night to go, but I don't think my boss is going to let me off for Thursday and Friday. Damn boss. Either way, I'll be there for the good stuff, and that's all that matters.

This afternoon we went to a happy hour for WAKA Kickball. There's a new league forming in the 'Lou and it would be great if you guys would sign up to play. It's a total blast! For more info, go to their website.
And, of course, if you have any questions, just let me know. I'll try to answer any you may have. Besides being a fun sport, it's a great social event. So SIGN UP!

Okay, so now that I have shamelessly tried to sell you WAKA Kickball, I shall move on now.

Tomorrow night I'm going to The Funny Bone with Beckie & Dan. It should be fun. Hopefully afterwards, I can convince them to head over to America's Pub, since I've never been there, and I'd at least like to check it out. So, we'll see!

Well, I guess that's it for me tonight. I really need to get some rest since I didn't get much this weekend. The next few weeks are pretty booked. Actually, July is pretty booked. And, my birthday is rapidly approaching. Yeehaw.

Night!

It's Almost Friday..

and oh, am I soo totally glad. Sometimes I wish I was still a kid, with no worries who could enjoy the week, as the weekend, all summer long. Being a grown up sucks sometimes! Damn responsibility.

Anyway, last night Beckie came over and we hung out, drank some beer, and talked about boys. We sat out on the deck and heckled each other about the Cards/Cubs game. Then, sadly she had to go home. I think this weekend we'll have fun. I'm so glad Beckie is finally down here. Yay!

Well, I can see today going by horribly slow. Why can't time fly at work, like it does when you're having fun? It must be a conspiracy. Definitely a conspiracy.

I have so much to do (outside of work). A lot. I hate that feeling of knowing the things you need to do, but not being able to do them right away.

Asten says he might come down this weekend. I think he's frontin'. But, we'll see. Perhaps if he deletes and reloads, his new program will tell him to come to STL. (Inside joke, sorry people.)

Well, I suppose I should get back to work. I can't expect to get paid to nothing all day..or can I??? :P

No Title

There is no title to this entry, because frankly, I couldn't think of one. Tonight was a very exciting night. I came home from work, started straightening up the house and started laundry, then I ordered a pizza. I haven't had that much fun in like 8 years. heh.

I really miss the cleaning lady this week. But, I will be glad when she comes on Monday to clean up after our party.

Chris sent me this tonight. The song is kinda catchy. I apologize in advance.

Today went by terribly slow. I really hope tomorrow goes by at the speed of light. Or perhaps faster than that. A lot faster.

Well, since it seems to me that this post has been full of nothing. I will stop now. I need to wash my hair. It feels like a mop.

Happy Birthday RJ!

Today is RJ's birthday. He's the big 3-0. Happy Birthday to you big boy. We're going to have fun at America's Pub this weekend bub. :P

I wish this day would hurry up and get over! I'm tired of being at work today. I had a salad for lunch and I think I ate too much of it because now, I'm really full. I need a nap.

After work, I think I'm going to go pick up a copy of President Clinton's book, My Life. Hopefully they'll still have a copy for me! And, I will read it while I'm doing the 30 loads of laundry I'm going to have tonight!

Well anyway, again, Happy Birthday Ryan!

The Definition of a Slacker

Is me. I'm a true slacker these days. I haven't updated in like 2 weeks. I wasn't prepared for the wedding I was in this weekend. I'm not prepared for this coming weekend and I suppose if I thought about it long enough, I could think of more things I'm not prepared for. Anyway, my sweet, dear friend Asten called me a slacker. And I guess I really am.

Okay, enough about me..lets talk about...me!

This weekend I was in a wedding. I was a bridesmaid and I rather enjoyed it. I didn't think I would like it, considering I don't know any of the other bridesmaids that well, and I haven't spent a lot of time with the bride in a few years. But, I did have a great time and I actually thought it was a great wedding. The church was beautiful, Jamie's dress was beautiful, the reception was rockin and I won $40 playing craps, wasted, at 3am with a stranger helping me. Well, he wasn't a total stranger...he was a groomsmen, but still I had no idea really who he was. Anyway, long story short, I had a great time. And, the dress didn't look all that bad either. So that was a bonus.

Other than that, I've been working a lot. And working out a lot with Beckie, and shopping...a lot. I have been shopping almost everyday for 2 weeks. And I'm not talking about window shopping people. I'm talking about buying shopping. I've gotten a ton of clothes, new makeup from Clinique, a *ton* of stuff from Victoria's Secret, and lots of other goodies from various mall places. I think I have a problem, but I don't know how to fix it. My name is Dana, and I'm a shop-a-holic.

Tonight I went to get a pedicure and an eyebrow wax. The girl who did my eyebrows pissed me off. I wanted to slug her. You know how it feels sometimes, when you feel such tingly pain that it makes you want to throw something or hit someone? Well, she hurt me so bad I wanted to hit her. The things women have to do to look presentable. *shakes head*

I am so tired. I'm still not fully rested from this weekend. Hopefully I can catch up tonight. I've got a ton of stuff to do after work tomorrow. Oh joy. Well, at least I updated. I'll try to be more faithful in my posting abilities this week. Night!

Good Mood!

I'm in such a good mood. Tonight, I went shopping with Beckie right after work, and I just got home. It was a blast. Of course, I'm always happy when I've been shopping. Tonight, I got 3 skirts, 3 shirts, a cami, some yoga pants and a pair of shorts..oh and I got Chris a shirt. It was just a good night. Beckie and I had a good conversation basically all night. After we shopped, we had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. It was the first time I'd eaten there, and it was really good. Though, we had *so* much food left over. I've never been to a place where there are so many leftovers. We both brought home 2 huge shopping bags full of food. There's totally enough food left to feed like...a family of 8....or something.

When I got home, I was happy to find my Live Strong wristbands in the mail. Cancer foundations rock. It's so important to give to different cancer foundations. Hopefully one day, we'll find a way to stop the disease. And, hopefully, most of you reading this, will be at the Komen Race For A Cure on Saturday.

Man. I just looked at my purchased goods again, and I must say that I have the most excellent taste in clothing. Go me!

Well, tomorrow is Friday. Exciting. I'm ready for the weekend. So, here's to tomorrow going by really fast!

Well, no big news on the car really. State Farm did call me this evening to tell me that they WILL be willing to consider other estimates I get, so there is a possibility, that they will just pay to get it fixed. I went by Brentwood Volvo tonight and talked to our salesguy and his manager. They told me that really the best thing to do would be to take the money and keep the car, but if I wanted a new one, they could do that too. So, this week I'll be getting an estimate from Dent Wizard and another body shop to send them. Actually, a guy from Dent Wizard was at the Volvo dealer tonight..and he looked at the car and told me they could fix it for around $2800. So, I'll get a written estimate and see what they come up with. Hopefully all works out and I'll get to keep my car.

Now, I'm going to try and not think about the car thing for the rest of the night. It's been on my mind all day today and it wasn't a good day.

Tonight we went to Best Buy to get a new WAP and as I was standing at the checkout, watching the receipt print out, I started thinking about this new Receipt Revolution that seems to be going on at a lot of retail stores. What in the hell is the deal with long receipts? Like, Circuit City..have you seen their receipt? Why in the heck do they need to print you a 4 x 30 sized receipt when you buy 1 or 2 things? Give me a break! Or, what about Target and their *2* receipts...if I need a gift receipt, that's cool..I'll ask for one. Otherwise, please refrain from giving me 2 receipts. It's completely unnecessary. Anyway, I just thought I'd mention that..it was on my mind.

Oh, something a little 'semi-exciting' to me today..when I got home I checked the mail, and I had a letter from Carnival, in response to the letter that I sent them back in March, after we got back from our cruise. I had written a letter just telling them that we had a great time, and I mentioned a few of the crew members who were just really great. Anyway, they just thanked me for writing them and the basic form letter blahblahblah but, then they sent me a thing for 10% off our next cruise and a 'gift' in our room on our next cruise. It's not a lot but it was really a nice surprise to find it in the mailbox today, after having a pretty stressful, crappy day.

I got a new CD tonight. Jamie Collum - Twentysomething So far, it's not bad I kinda like it actually. Though, I've only listened to 3 songs.

Well, that's it for today. Not much going on this week. I have a doctor & dentist's appointment on Wednesday and depending on how groggy I am after the dentist, we may play volleyball. Then, sometime later this week, I think I'm going shopping with Beckie. Saturday is Race For A Cure and beyond that, I dunno what's up.

Car..

well, we took the Volvo to the insurance drive-through place for the hail damage. All I can say is WHAT. WHAT. WHAT....they told us they were *totaling* the car. TOTALING. They weren't going to pay to fix it, because the cost to fix it, almost matches what the car is worth. So, we have 2 options. They can pay us the value of the car before the hail damage for the car and we give up my car, or they give us the difference of the value of the car - the salvage value of the car and we're pretty much on our own. I'm totally devastated. I love my beautiful car. After that, we went to the dealership to look at the 2004 S-40's and I just don't like them..at all. I don't want a new car. I want my car fixed. Anyway, we took it by and let Chris's dad look at it (he owns a body shop) and he thinks he can fix it for around $5-6000. So, we're going to call our insurance agent tomorrow to see if they'd be willing to take his estimate and fix the car, instead of totaling it. The whole ordeal has just made me ill, pretty much all weekend. I don't know what I'm going to do if they won't agree to get it fixed. I'll be sad :(

Besides that, we didn't do a lot this weekend really. We got the matching umbrella and stand for our patio furniture, and I got some really cute candle holders that match the place mats I have out on the table. I was going to get some lights for the umbrella, but they were out of the ones I wanted. But, as soon as I get those, our deck will be set for summer!

I didn't find the flip flops I wanted. Oh well. Today we went to Columbia to see India and Matt. We took them to lunch at Sophia's and damn, it was good! Chris and I had tapas, and Indy and Matt had pasta. After that, we went back to their house and watched TV, then headed back home. I've been doing laundry ever since.

Hopefully this coming week will be a good one at work. I'm really not looking forward to it, and really, I'm kicking around the idea of going back to Charter. Apparently, my old job is about ready to get posted...so I may apply for it. I don't know yet. I'm so confused. So, I just hope this week goes smooth and fast.

If anyone has any advice about the car situation, let me know. I'm going to finish watching the season finale of the Soprano's now. See ya!

Weekend. Woohoo

I was so glad yesterday was Friday. I was totally ready for the weekend. Last night, Beckie & RJ came over and we BBQ'd and had a few beers. We had a good time just hanging out. After we ate, we watched this crazy show on Spike TV called MXC. It was hilarious. It's a Japanese show that's dubbed over with crazy crazy English. Anyway, it was fun. After they left, I fell asleep like 30 minutes afterwards.

This morning I have to go pick up my bridesmaid dress for the wedding in 2 weeks. Then, after that I need to take the car to the insurance claims guy so he can tell me how damaged my sweet little car is from all the hail. One of my co-workers already got a check for his hail dents...$4200. Ouch. After that, I think I'm going to go to Target and spend some money. We need the matching umbrella to our patio furniture (though, it's really on our deck, so wouldn't it be deck furniture?) and I want to get some candles and torches and other cute, fun summery stuff for outside.

Victoria's Secret is having their semi-annual sale. I'm so all over that. I saw a few other stores that are having a few sales too. I need a new pair of white flip flops and maybe a pair of black ones too. Then, I need a new outfit for work. Maybe I'll be able to convince Chris to go to the mall with me.

Tonight, I think we're going to head out to Mt. Pleasant Winery and check out the Michael Schaerer Group. (The guy from the old band, Pale Divine) I don't know if that's what we're doing for sure, but it sounds like a good plan anyway.

I'm going to go get dressed now. See ya!

Jun 2, 2004

It feels like Tuesday...

but it's not. I guess that's a good thing. I'm annoyed with work. Actually I'm just annoyed with the accountant. So annoyed, I cannot think of anything else today but how much I dislike him. And the kicker is, HE'S NOT EVEN HERE! I seriously need to get past that today.

I suppose it's going to be a nice day outside. Oh how I wish I was anywhere tropical right now. With a cold alcoholic beverage. MmmMmm.

I think I'm going to go to Columbia this weekend and visit my sister. I haven't seen her for a while and I still haven't been to see her new house. So yes, that's what I will do.

Sorry I've been such a slacker lately. I just haven't had time to update. Plus, when I'm in a pissy mood, I don't generally like to type or talk. So, let us hope I drop the pissy mood thing very soon.

ta-ta!
