A Dana Weekend

Hi everyone who reads my blog. It's the weekend! Oh joy. Most of you know how much I love the weekend. Yesterday we had Chris's parents over and RJ for dinner and movies. It was fun. We really had a blast and then, everyone left late, and we went to bed. Great.

Today, Saturday, was such a great day. I did NOTHING. This afternoon I went tanning then, we had Chinese for dinner and came home. I had a couple of beers and talked to my friend Beckie. Then, RJ came over and we watched some movies. My friends in Chicago are having a chili party tonight. I wish I was there. I miss Chicago so much.

Now, I'm kicking around going to Chicago before March to hang out with some various people. Who knows. I guess I'll have to make up my mind soon. I can't believe tomorrow is already Feb. Soon it will be Valentine's Day and then, time for our cruise! YAY!

Today was a crazy day to be out. Traffic was bullshit. I cannot believe how some people drive. I sometimes wish my car had machine guns mounted to the side of it so I could shoot bad/slow drivers. However, I don't think machine guns are an add on package for Volvo's. Oh well!

My friend Beckie is really bumming about not having moved to STL yet. I hope she gets here soon. I miss her. I did talk to one of my friends whom I haven't talked to in a long time today. It was nice and I can't wait to see her in March. I can't wait to do a lot of things in March.

Well, I got my W2 and various other tax documents and am now ready to file taxes. I'm getting back a boatload of money. A little over $5000. Go me! It's nice to own a house!

I think next year, our summer vacation is going to be to Alaska. I'm not sure where our winter vacation will be yet. Somewhere warm probably. But, I guess we'll see.

Well, that's it for now. The 2 beers I had have gone straight to my head and I'm feeling kinda like...happy and strange at the same time. I should probably stop typing before I say something I don't want everyone to know. Sooo, more later. Peace, Love, and Good Food.

Thursday January 29.

Today is an ok day so far. Nothing really that eventful to speak of. I did see a shirt at Saks that I like. The only problem is, it's $445. AHHHH. That's too much money for one stupid shirt. Curse my first class taste.

Speaking of money, I think I will pay some bills tonight. I hate paying bills. It's like giving your money away for free.

It's really cold outside. I can't wait until summer. I love summertime. It's such a happy season.

Fast food workers are sometimes really dumb. If you order a LARGE soda and pay for a LARGE soda, should you get a LARGE soda instead of a medium?? It's just really annoying when your order gets screwed up, and then you have to go back to the office and tell people they didn't get the right thing. Then, everyone hates you for the rest of the day. It's a good thing I don't care if people hate me or not. HA!

.

I think I'm going to vote for Kerry instead of Dean. Dean is making me think he's a cranky guy who can't keep his temper under control. I really need to make up my mind before next week.

I really like waking up late and being late for work. I know I shouldn't...but I do. It's like I sorta get off on walking in late and everyone looking at me like "Damn, she always comes in late." I don't know what that's all about. Maybe it's a power trip or something. Today I had a discussion with my boss about him being bald. It was enlightening. He's proud to be a bald man and I'm kinda impressed that he shared his heartwrenching story of going bald with me. Sometimes, he's not such a bad guy.

Today was a pretty uneventful day. I spent most of the day surfing the internet as usual oh, and I answered the phone a few times. Lunch consisted of a chicken sandwich and some chicken noodle soup. You know. I am really fucking sick of chicken sandwiches and chicken noodle soup. I've had those things for lunch everyday for like a month. I don't know why I keep bringing them. It's just like a force of habit. Tomorrow I'm going to break the habit though. I'm going to bring...well, I don't know yet.

Healthy Choice makes some yummy turkey/pork sausage.

Chris got a new Macintosh laptop today. I knew as soon as I got my LCD monitor, he'd have to get something too. He's such a brat. I don't understand why it's such a big deal that I buy shoes and purses, but it's okay for him to buy really expensive pieces of computer. :P

Tomorrow I'm going to tan. Then I think I'm going to get a manicure. I took my polish off tonight and really, I don't think I like my nails without polish of some sort.

Well, that's it for today. Sleep tight & Sweet Dreams!

Jan 26, 2004

Yay, I'm typing this on my new flat panel monitor. Chris bought it for me tonight at Office Max. It's really nice. It's a Mitsubishi 15 inch with a DVI connector. I like it because it fits on my little desk perfectly. So, now my docking station is complete.

The news says it supposed to snow tonight. It's almost 10pm and there is still no snow. I really hope it snows because I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I have PLANS to stay at home and do nothing but play around on my setup.

Today was an amazingly mellow, good day. The day went by really fast and the drive home wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Today for lunch we orded from Imo's. It was gross. I ordered spaghetti and a salad and some zuchinni sticks. Well, after one bite of the spaghetti, I threw it away. I took 3 bites of the salad and threw that away too. I ended up eating garlic bread and fried zuchinni sticks. MmmmMmm healthy for sure! Did I mention that I hate Imo's?

Well, today is another day closer to our cruise. {Can you tell I'm excited? I mean, really....can you?}

Well, I'm out of things to say really. I mean, there are more things I could talk about, but really I'm just interested in clicking around on my computer. :P

Good night all!

Ice Ice Baby...

This was a good weekend! On Saturday night, into Sunday, it iced and snowed and it was so nice. We got some wood on Saturday morning and we were all cozy this weekend. I love our fireplace! Anyway, tonight it's supposed to snow something like 3-7 inches. I'm super excited about that because I love snow and 3-7 inches of snow, means no work! Woohoo!

Anyway, back to the weekend. I didn't do much of anything really. Friday I hung out by myself because Chris was judging a science fair. Saturday we got the wood, went to Stein Mart, oh and we stopped at 7-11 and got a really good deal on a bottle of Grey Goose Citron. After that, we went home and did nothing. Sunday I started straightening up our office. Chris got me a docking station for my laptop and I'm also getting a flat screen monitor. I'm sorta getting tired of using my laptop in the livingroom. Yes, I know I'm crazy but..I am frankly, sick of it. I also started working on my family reunion letter. This year, I'm the president/secretary so I get the responsibility of writing the letter. Oh joy! I'm just about done. All I need to do is finish the save the date cards, print the address labels, and burn some address books to CD.

Today is going by fast so far! Maybe that's because I didn't get in until 9:30 this morning. At any rate, hopefully the day will continue to go by fast. At 5:30, I've gotta meet with our housekeeper. Yay! Housekeeper! I am so happy to have her back. I think everyone should have a housekeeper. It's a must. A MUST.

Well, I suppose I should get to work. Bye!

Jan 23, 2004

Woohoo!

It's Friday! And I haven't updated in a few days, so I apologize. First, let me just say how happy I am that tomorrow is Saturday and the next day is Sunday, which means, I don't have to work! YAY! Today was a pretty good day. It went by fairly quick and nobody was mean to me.

It's supposed to I C E this weekend. ICE! See, St. Louis sucks because of ice. I seems like we never get pretty snow, but we get lots of ice. Soooo, hopefully we won't get as much as they're saying we will get. Tomorrow I think I'm going to do some shopping for the cruise. That's really all that's on the agenda. My sister was supposed to come visit, as was my mom...but because of the winter weather advisory, they cancelled. Sooo, maybe I'll just hang out at home most of the day after shopping.

I've been telling Chris we need to get another housekeeper, and he told me to call someone, but I never did. So, tonight I called our old housekeeper and left her a message. I hope she calls me back. I really liked her and she did a good job. Our new house is soooo much bigger compared to our condo, which she used to clean. So, I dunno. Wish me luck!

I've found that at random times, I talk to myself when I'm in the car. However, not only do I talk to myself while I'm in the car....I talked to myself while I was in the car with 2 of my friends. I said some things I don't normally say, and they were uh, sorta surprised. Whoops!

Chris's mom is addicted to Ebay. I think I created a monster. It's kinda funny though. We got her a new computer for Christmas, and since then, she's been an internet monster. hahaha

Well, I think that's it. I'm trying to watch TV and I'm really hungry and I wish Chris would hurry up and get home from the science fair he's judging. He's been there since 5:30! Anyway, Bye!

Jan 20, 2004

eye doctors are crooks.

Well, I went to the eye doctor tonight. WTF, Chuck? Every single time I've been to the eye doctor, they screw me. And screw me hard they do. Tonight, I went for new contacts. I wear Acuvue 2's. This guy gave me some contacts (2) to be exact, I've never heard of. Then, he tells me I have to pay him $35 something dollars. Can I just ask what the hell exactly my insurance pays for? Because last time I checked, I was only supposed to pay a $15 co-pay. Anyway, he gives me 1 pair of contacts, which are too big for me. Then, he tells me to come back in a week. Well, I'm going to tell you. FUCK. THAT. NOISE. I am not going back in 1 week, for I have already ordered some ACUVUE contacts from 1-800-(thankyou)CONTACTS. So, anyway, enough of this.

The State of the Union address is on. Big deal. I cannot take this guy we call our president seriously. Everytime I look at him, I see a monkey and hear an idiot. Today I talked to my mom. She told me that republicans are better drivers than democrats. I just laughed. She has no idea what's really going on in the political world, and honestly, I think she's better off. Oh, and btw, I am a very good driver AND a democrat.

My boss really annoys me sometimes. I don't feel good today...so, he starts poking me and hitting me (yes, hitting me. not hard, just enough to bug me) and I tell him to stop, because I don't feel good. And, of course, like a man, that just egged him on. I just wanted to slap him. Finally, he stopped because I had to answer the phone. I dunno, sometimes I wake up really hell bent on going to work just to prove something..(what, I don't know) and some days I wake up and just think "I'm going to stay in bed today." Of course, I never do. I really want a new job but I just don't see any that I'd be gung-ho about persuing. I mean, my job is okay for right now, but I don't think I can do it for another year. BLAH. That's what I think about work. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Well, I think I'm going to surf for cruise stuff. 44 days until we leave! Woooo.

Monday, Continued....

Thank goodness it's almost over. ONE DOWN, 4 TO GO! Hopefully tomorrow will go by fast! My sister is coming to visit this weekend and I think she's going to get some barstool's from the Williams and the loveseat that matches the couch we already gave her. That's one less thing in our basement. YAY!

Tonight is the Iowa Caucuses. I like saying the word caucus. It sounds like a mixture of sexual and dew-dew. Anyway, I don't quite get the big deal with the Iowa thing. They have *7* votes. Nobody cares about Iowa...or at least I don't. But honestly, I feel like all these democrats are going to screw everything up. The vote will be split again, and we'll be forced to endure another 4 years with Bush..and then, I will be forced to move to London like Madonna. Well, at least I could develop a cool accent.

Oh, and for those of you who don't know, yes, I am a Howard Dean fan AND I drive a Volvo. Yes, I'm a new yuppie and I don't care.

Tonight I ordered the Michael Buble CD, "Totally Buble". I saw him a few months back on some news program (Dateline, I think) and he sounded really good. Almost Dean Martin-like...but not exactly. I can't wait to get it and I hope it's good. I will let you all know as soon as I get it.
Speaking of getting things...I need to get Chris a new suit for our cruise. I also need to buy some more stuff for our cruise...including rum and vodka in plastic bottles. Where does one find plastic bottled liquor? If you know, email me

Okay, well, I'm going to watch CNN now. I'm outta here!

A Case of The Monday's

Blah, it's Monday. I wish it were Sunday. Cause that's my funday. Okay, so it really isn't. But still. I wish it were Sunday.

Today sucks. Considering that I went to bed at like 9pm last night, woke up around 4:30am this morning, then went back to sleep an hour later...only to come to work and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Don't get me wrong, most people love to get paid to do nothing...but SHIT. COME ON. I need something to do and I reached the end of the internet years ago.

In other news, I think our accountant/part owner isn't very nice to his wife. She called today and said he was supposed to leave her money so she could get their kids hair cut. Ummmm, is it me or is it weird that your husband would have to "leave money" so you could get the kid's hair cut. Maybe I'm just too bossy because if Chris tried to pull that on me, I'd knock him out. *BOOM*

My sister called me this morning...and thank goodness she did because I was totally bored. Her roomate is a biatch. I don't think it's that she's a true biatch...I think she's just jealous and lost and I dunno..weird. Hopefully India can get her to move out this summer. Who knows...

Well, It's only 1:30 and I still have 3 hours to kill before I get out of this crappy place. I'll write more later!

As Jack would say....Hasta LaWego.

The end of the weekend :(

Sunday. The end of the weekend. BLAH. I am so not ready to go back to work. It's really cold today however, it's not as cold as it is in New England. I'm ready for summer. Actually, I'm just ready for March so we can go on our cruise! Speaking of cruises, I am addicted to finding out every little piece of information I can about crusing. Shit, I haven't even been on my first cruise, yet I'm starting to plan my next cruise.

So anyway, today I went to the grocery store. Yes, I am aware of how exciting that is. Something I don't understand is organic popcorn. I don't understand what is wrong with regular popcorn. Chris said something about Monsanto popcorn but I don't think that has anything to do with it. I mean, if you are an organic popcorn buyer, what do you do? Think "I'll show you regular popcorn farmer!" "I'll buy organic popcorn and put you out of business." I'm all for equal purchasing rights for both organic popcorn farmers and regular popcorn farmers. Anyway, that's just something that bothers me.

I hope this week goes by fast. I'm already ready for next weekend. Last night, RJ came over and we went out to this new chinese place that's under new ownership. We got there around 8:30 and there was like 2 people in the place. This resturant is HUGE...so anyway, we get the buffet....I kinda wish we hadn't..because everything had a thin layer of whatever on it and looked like it had been sitting there for like 12 hours. Well, the food turned out to be so-so but I do have to say the Diet Coke was very good. :P The good thing about this resturant was the HUGE flat panel TV on the wall that was playing a Christina Aguilera "In Concert" DVD. It's always an adventure when we're with RJ and we go someplace new to eat. But, it was fun!

Well, that's all for today I think. I'm going to finish watching this football game. Ayez une bonne nuit!

Nail Salon

So, I just got home from the nail salon. I like those fruffy, girly kind of things. However, is it just me, or do you kinda get confused when your manacurist starts talking in her native tongue? I always just feel like I'm being talked about. One day, I would like to learn Korean so I can understand what they're talking about.

RJ is coming over tonight to hang out. Woohoo. Last night, we had a craptastic night at the Mills. The shopping sucked, the resturant (Fuzio's) sucked, the new movie theatre sucked, and getting locked in the mall and having to WALK ALL THE WAY AROUND THE HUGE BUILDING in the RAIN kinda sucked too. I've decided I wont be going back there. So, compared to last night, I'm sure tonight will be a little better!

Well, that's about it. Cops is on and I'm tired of typing.

This is my first blog. YAY! So, post 1 will be a test.
