Car..

well, we took the Volvo to the insurance drive-through place for the hail damage. All I can say is WHAT. WHAT. WHAT....they told us they were *totaling* the car. TOTALING. They weren't going to pay to fix it, because the cost to fix it, almost matches what the car is worth. So, we have 2 options. They can pay us the value of the car before the hail damage for the car and we give up my car, or they give us the difference of the value of the car - the salvage value of the car and we're pretty much on our own. I'm totally devastated. I love my beautiful car. After that, we went to the dealership to look at the 2004 S-40's and I just don't like them..at all. I don't want a new car. I want my car fixed. Anyway, we took it by and let Chris's dad look at it (he owns a body shop) and he thinks he can fix it for around $5-6000. So, we're going to call our insurance agent tomorrow to see if they'd be willing to take his estimate and fix the car, instead of totaling it. The whole ordeal has just made me ill, pretty much all weekend. I don't know what I'm going to do if they won't agree to get it fixed. I'll be sad :(

Besides that, we didn't do a lot this weekend really. We got the matching umbrella and stand for our patio furniture, and I got some really cute candle holders that match the place mats I have out on the table. I was going to get some lights for the umbrella, but they were out of the ones I wanted. But, as soon as I get those, our deck will be set for summer!

I didn't find the flip flops I wanted. Oh well. Today we went to Columbia to see India and Matt. We took them to lunch at Sophia's and damn, it was good! Chris and I had tapas, and Indy and Matt had pasta. After that, we went back to their house and watched TV, then headed back home. I've been doing laundry ever since.

Hopefully this coming week will be a good one at work. I'm really not looking forward to it, and really, I'm kicking around the idea of going back to Charter. Apparently, my old job is about ready to get posted...so I may apply for it. I don't know yet. I'm so confused. So, I just hope this week goes smooth and fast.

If anyone has any advice about the car situation, let me know. I'm going to finish watching the season finale of the Soprano's now. See ya!

I hate to be a downer, but once the adjuster has deemed a car totalled, it's totalled. As they said, you have two choices...they won't dicker once they have it on paper that the car is totalled. I'd take the money and keep the car. Get it fixed if you want - is the hail that bad? My daughter has hail damage on her car and you can't really even see it unless you're standing right next to the car.
