Down With The Tree

The Christmas tree came down today. I was so glad to have it out and everything put away. Now, my livingroom looks like a whole new place. I have all this space now that I guess I had forgotten that I had because of our massive tree. So, it's all done until next year. Because of all the thousands of pine needles that had fallen off the tree into places that I hadn't even imagined around the house, I ended up vacuuming the house about 3 times. It took me about 30 minutes or so. I love vacuuming though, so it worked out. Vacuuming is just another symptom of my OCD.

I woke up this morning with a really sore throat and I was coughing, so this afternoon I took some cough syrup, but my throat still hurts so I guess getting full on sick is only a few days away. Hooray!

For Christmas I got a bunch of books, cookbooks included. One of my goals this weekend is to go through them and pick out some recipes to make. That, and do my homework and try to understand my homework. I pissed off my teacher this week when I told her I didn't understand. She asked me which part, I told her all of it. I can understand frustration when you're trying to explain something you're really really good at to someone and they don't get it, but don't get all pissy with me when it's Algebra you're trying to explain and I don't get it. I think I was born without the math gene. It it's not adding or subtracting or multiplying or dividing, don't ask me if it's the right answer because I couldn't tell you. I'm thinking about getting a tutor for an hour or so to try and make me understand. Who knows if it will work. My eyes generally glaze over whenever letters and numbers are mentioned in regards to math.

One last thing before I stop typing. The first weekend of March, we're going to Vegas. I'd really like the stay at the new Wynn, but every place I look that has package pricing (airfare & hotel) is outrageous. I did find a 2 night deal for $499, but most Vegas deals I've been finding are usually 3-4 nights in that price range. We're looking at doing 3 or 4 nights. If any of you know where I can find a cheap rate for the Wynn, please let me know.

Hi Dana...hope you are feeling better. Wanted to suggest you try AIRBORNE. It really works, especially if you take it early on. It is a tablet that you disolve in water and drink. Not bad. Have had the lemon and orange flavors. Really. It works. Michelle

I had the same problem with algebra -- somehow I muddled through. Then came trigonometry. That's why it took me over five years to graduate with an English degree. I made it though. Just hang in there -- a tutor is a good investment.
