Should have taken the slide....

So, great night last night. Dinner with friends, Cake, City Museum. We were all really having a great time! So, at the Museum, we were crawling around like monkey's and joking about how tons of people must get hurt, considering how dark and steep some of the crawling area's were. So, we go up to the bar, and everyone else decides to take the slide down, and I decide to take the steps. So, I'm walking down the steps, and fall down like 2-3 steps. I was a little embarrassed, but I checked my fingernails, none broken, and got up and started walking again...not like 10 steps later, I fell *AGAIN*, this time down like 5-6 steps. Again, no broken fingernails, but my leg really hurt badly. So, I go sit down and look down at my foot and see my ankle swelling up before my eyes. It was literally the size of a grapefruit. It was friggin huge! So, the people at the Museum wanted to give me a wheelchair, but I didnt want one, and of course, I tried to "hop" my way out, but after 3 hops, realized that wasn't going to work..so I rode out in glory in a wheelchair. I was *so* embarrassed.

So, we go to the hospital and honestly, my foot being broken was the last thing on my mind. I figured it was just sprained or bruised or something and they'd wrap it up and send me home. WRONG. My fibula is 'fractured' and I'll have to be in a hard cast for 6-8 weeks. I was so shocked. I've never broken a bone in my life, and after climbing around at the City Museum and coming out of that just fine, I fall down the steps??? Shit sometimes I'm such an idiot. So, now I have to go see an orthopedic Surgeon and I'm just hoping that everything is ok and it won't have to be reset or I won't have to have surgery or anything.

I was supposed to go to a baby shower today, but I can't even get dressed. The back/side and heel of my foot feel like they're on fire. It hurts so bad. And now, I'm thinking how in the hell am I going to go Christmas/Grocery shopping, work, shop, etc etc etc with freaking crutches. I feel like such a tard, and I'm not so good on them. So, for now, I'll just sit here in my chair, with my foot propped up on the ottoman and hope the pain goes away. I have some Vicoden but I don't want to take it. Instead I've been taking Alieve and Tylenol Liqui-Gels. So hopefully that keeps working.

I broke my liar's bone--the fibula--a year ago. I'd spent the weekend in the country climbing on mud-covered river banks and mossy rocks. I wasn't back in the city but 5 hours and fell off a stool.

I wish the best for you.
